In the year 2015, at age 19, she debuted her first single Here. It was a huge hit and received praise from both listeners and critics alike. The song reached the top spot at 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the track one of the top Songs in 2015. This same year, she released Know It All. Scars to Your Beautiful is one of five original songs that reached Billboard's chart. The song was particularly memorable because it was based on an interview with the Rap-Up show, many fans shared their experiences of self-doubt, and her journey to learn how to love herself. Cara's music is known to be filled with messages of kindness, self-love and mental health. All of it is a result of her personal journey as she has struggled with mental health issues as well as insomnia. According to a Reuters interview, she describes the album as being half turbulent and half perfected. The therapy she received helped her grow and urges people to try it too. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born July 11th, 1996 to parents of Italian heritage. The guitar was gifted to her by her parents after she was 10 years old, which sparked her passion for music. After three years, at 13, she began singing songs she loved via YouTube. It was an excellent way to showcase to others that she possessed both talent and courage. Sweater Weather became her most famous song. The record label EP Entertainment EP Entertainment, noticed her and let her compose songs.
