AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as an attacking player. She is also captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division of women's professional soccer. From 2018 until 2020, she was a co-captain of the US women's national soccer team along with Megan Rappinoe. [8][9] Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional with the club and assisted the team win its league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time was the youngest player on the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which the team finished second. At the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final match against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 21 goals and 28 assists and was able to join Mia Hamm as the only American woman to score 20 goals and provide 20 assists in the same year, she became the sixth and the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan was instrumental in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was selected to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
