Sharp, who was born in Rochester, New York in 1962, took classes in clarinets as well as cellos and pianos at Hochstein School of Music. The Boston Conservatory offered her an award for the theatre classes at her school. The Cum Laude's B.F.A. was awarded to Sharp upon her graduation. Sharp's initial focus was on the stage. Sharp performed on The Broadway National Tour of Carousel. She debuted Off Broadway in Michael Bradford's Living in the Wind. And she played eight roles in the comedy interactive Eat the Runt. Sharp was Abyssinia and Aida in theatre, as well. Sharp's talents are not restricted to stage or screen. She has also written and written a number of projects.
